Over time and miles, the injectors can get coated with carbon build-up between the tip and sleeve, which can make them stick together. Using a factory tool may cause the injector to rock and binding it into the sleeve, only allowing it to pop up about 1/16 of an inch. This can lead to the sleeve becoming loosened or removed, resulting in more work and time spent replacing them. However, this unique tool will pull the injector straight out without rocking, reducing the chances of the sleeve being unintentionally removed.
