In the original “Visible Rider” program, acclaimed educator and artist Susan Harris and rider Peggy Brown demonstrate how the human skeleton is put together and how it performs in harmony with the horse. Wearing a special “bone suit,” Brown shows how a rider’s anatomy works in both English and Western tack. Because the rider is “transparent” you can observe how human anatomy and movement affects and is interpreted by the horse, and how balance and straightness are dynamic, ever-changing states. The “Visible Rider” works at all gaits, showing a balanced, following seat. Brown also demonstrates common riding faults while Harris explains why they occur, and how they affect horse and rider. Seeing is believing—you may recognize some of your own riding habits and learn how to improve them.
