If you’re wondering if aftermarket shackles make a difference, if you get them from Carli, yes, they do. The factory shackles use vulcanized bushings; the sleeve that runs the length of the bushing is very thick, making the actual bushing very thin. This gives the bushing a lot of movement, which is NOT good.

 These Fabricated Leaf Spring Shackles from Carli utilize more bushing material and a thinner sleeve to prioritize damping. Fully serviceable and greaseable through a zerk fitting that efficiently channels the grease around the sleeve and bushing face, effectively extending the bushing’s lifespan.
