If you ever hear buzzing or grinding sounds within your transmission it could be your pilot bearing, these small components are one of the most important internal pieces, as it supports and centers the transmission input shaft and clutch disc. When the clutch is disengaged, the pilot bearing allows the flywheel to maintain engine RPM while the input shaft slows down and stops.
