These Stage 4.5 camshafts from Colt Cams will give you a longer duration & lift on the exhaust side for motors with a slight restriction, or if you want more exhaust flow and give you the strongest mid-range torque & HP, while still delivering good bottom-end power. And they’re great for max flow on large singles or compound turbo setups.

Features

• Average 2 – 3 MPG increase
• 30 – 35 % smoke decrease
• Approximately 200° EGT drop
• Good to 4700 RPM
• Similar to the stage 3 but runs a larger exhaust profile
• Thicker core and fillet radiuses in front of both journals on #1 cyl – This strengthens cam for less chance of breakage
• Colt Cams heat treats them in a very unique way again for less chance of breakage and lobe scuffing
• All the cams are parkerized. This is for the initial start-up, break in procedure. Parco lubrite is a graphite coating done in a hot acid bath. This allows your cam lube something to hang on to and puts a barrier between your tappets and lobe so no hot spots can occur from metal on metal. This is another important detail for longevity.

Notes

• Colt Cams Tappet Set is highly recommended
• NOT recommended for towing
• Valve clearance may be required – 1800-4700 rpm.
• Retainer torque 44 ft lbs – use red loctite.
• Due to many contributing variances in an engine: heads planed, block decked, valve recession etc… any cam including stock, should always be checked for clearance before start up!
