Smeding ensures all turbochargers are high-speed balanced before shipping. This particular turbo features a 90-degree 3rd-gen style race cover instead of the standard V-band cover. What’s the difference? 

A 90-degree cover utilizes a flange that’s welded or bolted directly to the turbo housing, creating a rigid connection. A V-band cover utilizes a clamp that fits around a circular flange on the turbo housing, offering flexibility and easier disassembly for maintenance.
