This Tappet Set from Colt Cams differs from others by featuring their unique crown (or convex surface). This is the #1 feature to guarantee rotation on the 5.9L Cummins. 

Over the last few years, Colt Cams had noticed a huge inconsistency of crown. Even some of their customers were sending in brand new tappets that had to have crown put on them. Some of these were flat and they even found one dished which in not acceptable. 

After studying the width of the lobe, Colt Cams decided the diameter of the 24V 2nd Generation was the perfect size and they also maximized the crown for the best rotation.
